<b>"Buy followers to look credible and trigger growth."</b>
The belief assumes social proof seeds the algorithm — a big number invites the machine to push you. It backfires, and the buyers never run the comparison.
The mechanism: bought followers are inactive accounts. They tank your follower-to-view <i>ratio</i> and your video's completion within your own audience, the exact signals that <i>suppress</i> reach. You've poisoned your test pool with non-watchers.
What's true: a real 500-follower account with 40% completion outperforms a padded 50k one. TikTok measures behavior, not headcount — and dead followers are behavioral dead weight that actively drags distribution down.
