<b>'Offsite' on the same provider is not offsite. It's a different room in the same burning building.</b>
Your live server on a host and your 'offsite' backup in that same host's object storage share one account, one billing relationship, one suspension button.
One compromised login, one terms-of-service dispute, one provider outage takes both out together.
Real offsite means a different company entirely — different credentials, different blast radius. Cross-provider is the whole point.
If one invoice going unpaid can vaporize your live data and your only copy at once, your offsite is a costume. Change my mind.
