How Google decides who you are: matching profiles

How Google decides who you are: matching profiles

Today's lesson: before Google gives you a knowledge panel (the fact box), it has to be sure you're a real, single thing. It checks whether your profiles across the web agree with each other.

Think of a job reference. One glowing letter is nice; five letters all telling the same story is convincing.

Google looks for matching, consistent links — your site, your social pages, listings — all pointing to the same name and details:
1. Use the exact same business name everywhere (no "Inc." on one, "LLC" on another)
2. Link your official social profiles from your own site
3. Keep your founding year, location, and logo identical across listings

When the references agree, Google trusts you enough to describe you.

Try this: open your three main profiles side by side and fix any spot where the name or details don't match. 🎓
