How to read a vendor's roadmap before you commit a year
Spotted: people signing annual deals on a tool that's quietly being abandoned. The roadmap (their plan of upcoming features) tells you everything:

Check the public changelog cadence — shipping monthly is healthy, silent for a quarter is a flag.

Scan their job board: hiring engineers = investing, hiring only sales = milking.

Look for 'enterprise' pivots — that's where the SMB features go to die.

Note what they've shipped vs promised last year.
Momentum is the only honest metric. Watching this.
