Myth: post at the 'best time' your analytics app shows you
Every Threads analytics tool will hand you a tidy 'optimal posting time' heatmap. The advice to obey it is the myth: those grids are built from when you already post, so they just reflect your own habit, not opportunity.
Tested Metricool and Minter.io best-time suggestions for 12 days by deliberately posting against them.
— Off-peak posts often outperformed the 'recommended' slot
— The heatmap shifted to follow my new schedule within a week, proving it's circular
The correction: treat best-time data as a starting hypothesis, then run your own A/B across the day. The tool can't see slots you've never tested.
Annoying limitation: neither app flags this self-referential bias in the UI.
Verdict: the feature is Wait, your own testing is Worth it.
