Playbook: importing a content calendar from Notion/Sheets into a Threads scheduler
Tested the Sheets-to-Publer CSV path on a real account for 6 days. The column mapping is where people lose a day.
— Standardize your sheet to exactly three columns before export: text, media URL, datetime. Extra columns confuse the importer.
— Format datetime as YYYY-MM-DD HH:MM and state the timezone in the import settings, not the cell. Tools assume UTC otherwise.
— Host media on a permanent URL. Notion file links expire; the import will silently skip them.
— Import 5 rows as a test batch first. Fix mapping errors before committing 100 posts.
— Spot-check line breaks; CSV often flattens multi-paragraph captions into one line.
Publer's standout is a column-mapping preview before commit. 12 USD/mo. Annoying limit: it can't import threaded chains from a flat CSV, so multi-post chains go in manually.
Verdict: Worth it for bulk planners; Skip CSV for chains.
