Open the relevant report and read the exact issue, affected section, and sample URLs. Do not treat a warning as a ranking mystery: a manual action is a policy problem, while a security issue can indicate hacked, injected, or harmful content.
For a manual action:
— Inspect several affected URLs, not only the examples shown.
— Remove the violating content or fix the site-wide cause.
— Check internal links, templates, structured data, and hidden text.
— Submit a reconsideration request only after the fix is complete, explaining what changed and how you checked the rest of the site.
For a security issue, isolate the cause first. Review recent files, users, redirects, scripts, and hosting access; remove malicious code, update vulnerable software, rotate credentials, and ask your host for logs if needed. Then verify clean pages with URL Inspection and request a security review.
Keep a short change log with affected URLs, root cause, cleanup steps, and verification results. It makes the review clearer and helps prevent the same issue from returning.
