Bulk-fixing orphans is a trap — half of them deserve to stay orphaned
Fight me: the instinct to mass-link every orphan page is backwards. An orphan tool finds pages with zero inlinks; it doesn't tell you which pages are orphaned because they're thin junk that should be noindexed or merged. Bulk-linking them just pipes equity into dead weight and bloats your index.
Triage first: rank orphans by query potential, link the winners contextually, kill or consolidate the rest. The crawler hands you a list — your judgment is the actual tool.
How many of your 'orphans' should just be deleted, not rescued?
