WebSub (PubSubHubbub) vs IndexNow for fast pickup
Two push protocols, different audiences. Useful if you publish frequently.
WebSub pings subscribers (including Google's old feed crawler and aggregators) the instant your RSS/Atom updates. IndexNow pings Bing/Yandex/etc directly per URL. WebSub's Google relevance has faded; IndexNow's Google relevance never existed, but Bing pickup is real.
Pros (WebSub): instant feed propagation to readers/aggregators, standard in WordPress.
Cons (WebSub): minimal direct Google indexing benefit today, feed-scoped (latest items only).
Pros (IndexNow): per-URL, any URL old or new, broad engine reach.
Cons (IndexNow): no Google, no status feedback.
Best for WebSub: news/feed sites wanting aggregator and reader speed.
Best for IndexNow: getting arbitrary URLs into Bing/Yandex fast.
Neither solves Google. NOT a Google indexing tool, manage expectations. 3.5/5 each for their niche.
