What do I do when emails start bouncing?
A bounce is an email that couldn't be delivered, usually because the address is fake, mistyped, or dead. Too many bounces tell inbox providers you're careless, so handle them fast.
Work through it:
—
1. Separate hard bounces (address doesn't exist) from soft bounces (mailbox full, temporary).
—
2. Remove every hard bounce immediately. They'll never deliver, so stop emailing them.
—
3. Add a real-time email check to your signup form so typos get caught before they join.
✅ Keep your bounce rate under 2% by clearing hard bounces every send.
Homework: Check your last campaign's bounce rate and note if it's above or below 2%.
