What is preview text and how do I set it?

Preview text is the gray snippet next to or under your subject line in the inbox. It's free extra space to pull people in, but most beginners leave it blank and waste it.

Use it on purpose:

1. Find the 'preview text' or 'preheader' field in your email tool (it's near the subject line).

2. Write a short line that adds to the subject, never repeats it.

3. Keep it under 90 characters so phones show the whole thing.
