Hot take: nobody open-sources a working filter out of generosity. The free script on that GitHub repo or in that leaked pack is the product, and your traffic is the price.
People compare paid vs free like it's a budget decision. It's a trust decision. A paid vendor at least has a reputation to lose. A random free build has every incentive to skim, phone home, or quietly route a slice of your conversions somewhere you'll never audit.
If you can't read the whole thing and don't know who shipped it — it isn't free, it's bait.
