Warm a cold sending domain in 14 days
The step-by-step for not torching deliverability on day one.
1 — Set SPF, DKIM, and DMARC to p=none before the first send.
Why: blasting from an unauthenticated domain is the fastest route to a spam folder you never leave.
2 — Day 1-3: send only to engaged opens from your warmest 50 contacts.
Why: early positive engagement teaches mailbox providers you're wanted.
3 — Double volume every two days, capping the jump at 2x.
Why: providers flag volume spikes harder than they flag content.
4 — Watch your bounce rate, not your open rate, as the kill switch.
Why: a climbing hard-bounce rate signals list rot before reputation tanks.
5 — Move DMARC to p=quarantine only after 14 clean days.
Why: enforce too early and you'll block your own legitimate forwards.
That's the stack for this week. Forward to a teammate.
