Dedicated sending domains vs your main domain
Never send cold from your primary domain. The real choice is how you spread the secondaries.
Many cheap secondaries Pros:
— Risk is distributed; one burns, others survive
— Higher total daily volume
— Main brand domain stays clean
Many domains Cons:
— $10-12/domain/year plus DNS setup each
— Reputation spread thin, slower to build
Few aged domains Pros:
— Concentrated reputation, lands harder
— Less DNS overhead
Few domains Cons:
— One bad campaign torches your whole capacity
— Lower ceiling on volume
Verdict: Spread strategy 4.3/5 for agencies, concentrated 3.8/5 for solo senders.
Who it's for: Buy 3-5 lookalike domains (.co, .io, get-yourbrand) with 2-3 mailboxes each if you send 200+/day. Keep it to one or two secondaries under that. Either way, point them all at your main site with 301s and full SPF/DKIM/DMARC before sending a single email.
