Email pitch vs. portal form: which should you use?

Email pitch vs. portal form: which should you use?

Some services email you reporter requests. Others make you log into a website (a "portal") and submit answers there. Here is the difference, plainly:

1. Email pitch — you hit reply and write your answer in the email body. Fast, familiar, and you can do it from your phone in two minutes.
2. Portal form — you click a link, log in, and paste your answer into boxes. Slower, but your pitch lands in a tidy queue the reporter actually checks.

Think of it like a handwritten note vs. dropping a form in the right mailbox. The note is quicker; the mailbox is where the reader is looking.

When to use which: reply by email when speed matters (breaking news). Use the portal when the reporter clearly prefers it — they get fewer messages there, so you stand out.

Try this today: check which method your last query used, and notice which one you ignored.
