— Be in a supported country with a US-based business and tax info on file. This is the most common blocker.
— Convert to a Business or Creator account, not personal.
— Connect a real product catalog through Commerce Manager, not just tagged links.
— Comply with the commerce eligibility policy — no restricted categories (supplements, certain CBD, etc.).
— Apply specifically for checkout inside Commerce Manager; a shop alone doesn't auto-enable it.

If you only see 'view on website,' you have a shop but not checkout — that's the difference.

Also worth knowing: checkout availability has shrunk in some regions, so 'view on website' redirect flows are now the realistic default for many sellers.
