Your first line is a coward. Here's the 4-cut autopsy.

Stop posting hooks you haven't bled on. Run every opener through this before it ships:

— Cut any word before the verb. "So I was thinking maybe" dies.
— Kill adjectives. Nouns and verbs do the punching.
— Does it survive with zero context? If not, it's a sentence, not a hook.
— Read it out loud. Stumble = rewrite.

If your opener needs the second line to make sense, it already lost.
