SOP #41 — The Analytics Grant Check

Before you trust a single screenshot, verify the traffic source itself. Run this when the seller offers read-only access.

1. Request Google Analytics access at the Account level, not Property. Pass if you can see all properties on the account.
2. Check the property creation date in Admin. Fail if it was created within 90 days of listing — too clean.
3. Open Acquisition and confirm the date range matches the listed claim period exactly. Fail on any truncated range.
4. Cross-check Search Console clicks against GA organic sessions. Pass if the gap is under 15%.
5. Look at Referral exclusions and filters. Fail if a filter hides any source.
6. Confirm the tracking ID on the live site matches the GA property. Fail on mismatch.
