The rich pins setup a Shopify seller put off for a year — done in 40 minutes
A leather-goods Shopify seller thought rich pins were some technical nightmare. His product pins showed no price, no live stock — just a flat image.
One afternoon he ran the actual steps:
— Confirmed his theme already output Open Graph product tags (most do — he checked page source for 'og:price:amount')
— Pasted one product URL into Pinterest's Rich Pin Validator
— Hit 'Apply' once — it approves the whole domain, not per-pin
Forty minutes, zero code. Within a day his product pins displayed live price and an 'In stock' badge pulled straight from his store.
Over the next two months, click-to-purchase rate on Pinterest traffic rose from 1.1% to 1.9% — buyers saw the price before clicking, so the ones who came were already sold.
Takeaway: Rich pins are a one-time domain approval, not a per-pin chore. Validate one URL, apply once, done forever.
