Unpopular opinion: "SEO is dead, it's all GEO now" is the most expensive mistake in the space.
AI engines retrieve from the indexed, ranking web. If you're not crawlable, indexed, and ranking, the LLM never finds you to cite you. People torching their technical SEO to chase "GEO" are sawing off the branch they're sitting on.
GEO is a layer on top of working SEO, not a replacement for it. No index, no citation.
