Free tier vs Pro: where the line actually bites
Most builders gate the same things — know before you commit a project.
Free (Elementor free / Bricks has no free):
— Pros: full layout, basic widgets, fine for a simple brochure site, zero cost to test
— Cons: no theme builder, no forms, no popups, no dynamic data — the parts real client work needs
Pro/paid:
— Pros: theme builder, dynamic tags, forms, popups, WooCommerce widgets
— Cons: annual renewal, and you're now locked into that builder's templating
Best for: free only on one-off brochure pages; pay for Pro the moment a project needs forms, templates, or dynamic content — which is almost always.
