The frantic post-publish edit
Everyone says: "Whatever you do, don't edit after posting — it nukes your reach."
The claim: editing a live post resets or kills its distribution.
What's actually true: editing doesn't reset reach. The real risk is that editing during the first-hour push can briefly hide the post from feed while it re-processes, costing you minutes of prime distribution. The mistake is both the myth (paralysis over a typo) and the actual error (rewriting the hook at minute 10). Tested fix: proofread before you publish so you don't need to. If you must fix a real error, do it in the first two minutes or after hour two — never mid-surge. Fixing a broken link beats leaving it 'for the algorithm's sake.'
It's not that editing kills reach. It's that editing mid-launch interrupts it.
