"Promote your best organic video — pour fuel on what's already winning"
The received wisdom: the post proved it works, so pay to scale it. Feels like obeying the data.
The mechanism cuts the other way. Promote/Spark buys you impressions, but paid traffic is colder and lower-intent than the organic pool that made the video pop — so your golden completion and share rates dilute. Worse, you can't cleanly tell afterward whether the continued reach was earned or bought.
What's true: paid promotion is a conversion tool — push a video with a clear action (link, offer, event) to a defined audience. It's a bad growth tool; you can't buy the organic signal that actually compounds.
Promote to convert a proven message. Never to fake organic momentum — you'll just pay to muddy your own data.
