Single-take vs multi-clip hooks: which to shoot
The hook structure changes your shoot and edit load. Decide upfront:
— Authentic problem/reaction hook? Single continuous take. Cuts break the "raw" feel buyers trust.
— Pattern-interrupt or fast-value hook for paid? Multi-clip, 3 to 5 cuts in the first 3 seconds to hold retention.
— Testing which hook wins? Shoot single-take variants, cheaper to produce 8 of them.
Tradeoff: single-take is fast to shoot but unforgiving of mistakes; multi-clip is retention-strong but doubles edit time.
Framework: Single-take to Test, Multi-clip to Scale the winner. Standardize this so your editors know the cut style from the brief. Save it.
