No panel at all? You may be missing from the index Google trusts
Today's lesson: a knowledge panel (that summary box) is built from sources Google trusts — and a big one is Wikidata, a free public database of facts about real-world things.
Real example: a respected niche brand has a great site but no panel, while a smaller rival has one — because the rival exists in these trusted databases and they don't.
The mistake: people wait for a panel to appear magically without ever giving Google a trusted source to confirm who they are.
The fix:
— Get listed where Google looks: a Wikidata entry, an official LinkedIn or Crunchbase profile, consistent mentions on solid sites.
— Keep your name and key facts identical everywhere.
— Be patient — panels can take weeks after the sources line up.
Think of it like a passport. The country issues one only after trusted records confirm you exist.
Try this: search your brand on wikidata.org and see if you're even there. 🎓
