Why her Pinterest traffic converted better than Google's
A recipe blogger got more visitors from Google than Pinterest and assumed Google traffic was simply better. Her ad revenue per visitor said otherwise.
When she segmented, Pinterest visitors stayed longer, viewed more pages, and saved more recipes — they arrived in planning mode, browsing for ideas, not chasing a single quick answer like most Google searchers.
So she stopped treating both channels the same. For Pinterest, she added "more recipes like this" blocks and meal-plan roundups to keep planners clicking deeper. Pages-per-session from Pinterest rose from ~1.4 to ~2.3.
Takeaway: Pinterest sends planners, Google often sends answer-seekers — design the landing experience for the mindset of the channel, not a one-size-fits-all page.
