The board she deleted every January — and shouldn't have
A baker built a fresh "Christmas Cookies" board each November and archived it in January. Reach was great in December, then her whole account flatlined for ten months.
A savvier creator told her seasonal content compounds if you let it sit. So she stopped deleting — she kept the board live year-round and just re-pinned into it starting October each year.
The payoff came the following holiday: pins from the prior year already had save history and ranking, so they surged earlier and higher. December impressions went from ~40k to ~110k year-over-year, with barely any new pins.
Takeaway: don't restart seasonal boards from zero each year — let them age in place so last year's saves do the heavy lifting this year.
