Link cloaking is a faster ban than a clean link
Heard (Confirmed enforcement): routing around the link penalty with redirect shorteners, screenshot-of-a-link, or "link in bio comment" trickery is treated as evasion — harsher than just eating the penalty.
The failure mode: affiliate poster cloaks every URL through a tracker domain, gets the whole domain throttled, then shadow-flagged.
The fix:
— Use one clean, consistent destination domain so it builds reputation
— Put the link in a reply, not behind a redirect chain
— Warm a new tracker domain slowly before scaling volume
What it means for your reach: evasion signals beat link signals — don't trade a haircut for a ban.
