Spamming "Request Indexing" doesn't speed anything up

Clicking Request Indexing ten times on the same URL is the placebo of SEO. Google dedupes the request — extra clicks do nothing but make you feel busy.

Where it actually helps:
— A genuinely new or freshly-fixed page you want in the priority crawl queue
— Confirming a noindex removal got picked up

Where it falls short:
— Quota is ~10–12 requests/day per property; burn it on dupes and you can't queue real new pages
— It never overrides a quality/duplicate decision — Google will recrawl and drop it again

The mistake underneath: using manual requests as a substitute for fixing why the page wasn't indexed (thin content, duplicate, soft 404).

The fix: request once, then leave it 1–2 weeks. If it's still excluded, the problem is the page, not the queue. Spend the energy on the cause.

Best for: one-off priority nudges.
Not for: bulk indexing — use a sitemap for that.
