Page builder or the built-in block editor?
The block editor (called Gutenberg) is the editing screen that comes free with WordPress. You stack content in blocks: a paragraph block, an image block, a button block.
A page builder is an add-on like Elementor that gives you drag-and-drop design with far more controls.
How to choose:
— Writing posts and simple pages? The free block editor is plenty, and it loads faster.
— Designing fancy landing pages with columns, animations, exact spacing? A page builder saves real frustration.
The tradeoff: builders add weight, so pages can load slower, and switching builders later is painful because they store layouts in their own format.
In plain words: blocks for everyday writing, a builder only when you truly need custom design.
