The landscaper whose work was invisible

The landscaper whose work was invisible

Meet a landscaping company in Denver. Stunning portfolio, ranked mid-pack, losing bids to firms whose work looked worse on paper.

We opened their profile and found the disconnect: their best photos lived on their website, hidden behind a slow gallery, while their Google profile showed eight generic stock-feeling shots. The judges Google trusts — searchers scanning the panel — never saw the good work.

Worse, competitors uploaded fresh before-and-after sets weekly, tagged with neighborhoods in the captions and filenames.

We moved the real portfolio onto the profile, set a weekly upload of recent local jobs, and named the neighborhood in every description. Customers were nudged to post their finished-yard photos too.

Three weeks in, the ranking held flat and the owner doubted photos could matter that much.

Week six, the listing climbed and the calls got bigger.

Position 6 to position 3, direction requests up 28%, and the average project quote rose because clients arrived already impressed.

The lesson: your best work belongs on the profile, not buried on your site — fresh, local, customer-backed photos sell the click and feed the ranking at the same time.
