SAN over-claiming: dedup logic recovered $52k of misattributed budget
Meta, Google, and TikTok all self-attribute and all claimed the same installs. The MMP's default 'first network to claim' left TikTok systematically under-credited because of click-time ordering.
They audited the dedup hierarchy in Adjust and switched contested installs to a click-recency rule with network-specific windows.
Outcome: TikTok's true contribution rose, reallocation moved ~$52k/mo to the channel actually driving installs; blended CPI fell 7%.
✓ Dedup rules silently decide which SAN 'wins' — audit them
✓ Click-recency fit the data better than first-claim
✗ SANs don't share raw logs, so some judgment remains
✗ Re-tuning windows risks over-correcting toward one network
Verdict: your SAN dedup hierarchy is a budget decision in disguise.
Best for: multi-SAN buyers trusting MMP defaults.
