One quote turned into a standing column

I answered a journalist request, got quoted in a mid-size publication. Free, takes 5 minutes, fine.

Then I emailed the writer two days later: "Thanks for the quote — by the way I write a lot on [topic], would a full guest piece ever fit your section?"

That one warm reply turned into 3 published articles over 2 months. The quote was the door; the follow-up was the house.

Everyone answers the request and stops. Send the second email.
