<b>"Re-upload your flop, it gets a fresh chance."</b>
The received wisdom treats re-uploading as a reset button. It feels clever — same content, new test pool. No one checked what the system actually does with a duplicate.
The mechanism: TikTok fingerprints video and audio. A re-upload is often detected as recycled content and given <i>throttled</i> distribution — the opposite of fresh. Your original already got tested honestly; the copy starts penalized.
What's true: if a video deserves a second life, re-edit it materially — new hook, new framing, different first 3 seconds. A genuinely different video gets a genuine test. A clone gets a discount.
