Built a 1 pillar + 6 spoke cluster. Pillar hit page 1 off the spokes alone.

New topic, competitive head term. Tried to rank the pillar cold last year, died at page 4. This time I built the cluster first.

Order of ops:
— Published 6 long-tail spoke posts (low-comp questions) over 5 weeks
— Each spoke linked UP to the pillar with a varied anchor
— THEN published the pillar last, linking down to all 6

The spokes ranked fast (low comp), passed relevance + links to the pillar. Pillar went to position 7 with zero external backlinks.

Don't rank a pillar alone. Build the support first, then drop it.
