Moved 25 sites off DigitalOcean, cut hosting 70%
Just did this. Three $24 DO droplets (72GB total, $72/mo) for 25 small sites felt insane.
Consolidated onto one Hetzner CX41: 4 vCPU, 16GB, $16/mo.
— migrated with rsync + mysqldump per site
— LEMP, fastcgi microcache, OPcache validation off
Load avg sits at 0.8 with all 25 sites live. Bill went $72 → $16, a 78% cut, and the single box is faster than the spread-out droplets because the buffer pool now fits everything. One box, half the ops surface.
