Linking pins to a hub page lifted his whole site's traffic
A gardening blogger had dozens of pins each pointing to a different thin post. Traffic came in spikes and bounced. His Pinterest sessions averaged barely a minute and rarely a second page view.
We restructured. He built one strong 'beginner vegetable garden' guide and pointed his best-performing pins there, while that guide linked out to the smaller posts. Pinterest fed traffic to the hub; the hub spread it across the site.
Over three months his Pinterest sessions per visitor roughly doubled, and pages-per-session went from about 1.2 to 2.1. Same pins, same traffic volume — but now it landed somewhere built to keep people reading.
Takeaway: Point your strongest pins at a hub page that links deeper, not at scattered dead-ends. Where the click lands decides whether traffic converts or bounces.
