I 5x'd my anchor power with one extra ask

Landed a guest post on a solid site. Most folks take the do-follow link in the bio and bounce. I asked one more thing at publish:

— "Could you drop a contextual link to this from your existing post on [related topic]? It genuinely fits para 4."

Editor said sure. Now I had: the bio link PLUS a link from an aged, indexed, ranking page on the same domain.

That second link from the old page moved my target keyword 6 spots. The bio link did nothing.

Always ask for the in-content link from old pages. Go do it.
