CONFIRMED: After a code crackdown, one site negotiated a whitelist and grew the account 3x
A beauty brand began clawing back commissions from coupon affiliates and threatened removals. One site's move, per the operator: instead of fighting, they proposed a brand-approved exclusive in exchange for taking down all scraped generic codes. The brand whitelisted them. Result over a quarter — that account's commission grew from a near-zero clawback risk to 3x its prior revenue.
Why it matters: when a brand cracks down, the surviving affiliates are the ones who offer compliance as a feature.
We hear two competitors got delisted entirely the same month.
