The "I ran Ezoic and Mediavine side by side" comparison
The claim: a publisher split their site, half on each network, and reported Mediavine winning by $9 RPM as a clean head-to-head.
The asterisk: the split wasn't random. Ezoic got the new, thin, mobile-heavy posts; Mediavine got the aged, long-form, desktop-friendly pillar pages — because that's how the migration happened to land.
🚩 Hidden variable: selection bias in which pages went where. The pages assigned to Mediavine would out-earn on any network.
A real test randomizes pages by traffic source and word count. This one handed the better inventory to one side.
Not saying the result is fake — saying a side-by-side only proves anything if both sides got comparable inventory, and almost no DIY split ever does.
