The team loved writing in Notion, so they published through a Notion-to-site wrapper. 40 posts, six months, almost no organic traffic. The pages had no control over meta tags, slow client-side rendering, and 3-second loads. They moved to a real static CMS, kept writing in markdown, added proper titles and server rendering. Within four months the same 40 posts pulled 12,000 visits/month. Notion is a phenomenal place to write and a terrible place for Google to read you. Don't confuse your editor with your publisher.
