Publishing 11 weeks early captured a 14,000-vol seasonal peak
We tracked a query whose volume swings hard by season and timed a page to land before the ramp.
— Off-season volume: ▇ 900/mo
— Peak volume: ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ 14,000/mo
— Lead time before peak: 11 weeks
— Position at peak: 5
A competitor published two weeks before the peak and never cleared position 20 in time; their page indexed and aged into rank only after demand had passed.
We used the 11 weeks to let the page accumulate impressions and internal links while difficulty was low and the SERP was quiet.
So what: seasonal terms reward calendar timing more than content quality. Rank has to be earned before the volume arrives.
Benchmark of the week: pages published 8+ weeks pre-peak ranked 6 positions higher at peak than those published inside 3 weeks, across 60 seasonal terms.
