Why do my emails land in spam even though they're honest?
SPF and DKIM are tiny settings that prove your email really came from you. SPF is like a guest list of who's allowed to send for your domain; DKIM is a sealed signature on each letter.
Why it matters: a consultant's emails kept landing in spam. Mailboxes couldn't verify she was really her, so they got suspicious.
What her setup looked like:
— Step 1: logged into her domain provider and found the DNS settings
— Step 2: ✅ added the SPF and DKIM records her email tool gave her
— Step 3: tested with a free inbox-placement checker after 24 hours
Result: spam placement dropped from roughly 40% of sends to under 5%. No new content, just proof of identity.
Tiny homework: search "does my domain have SPF" with a free DNS lookup. Just check.
