His first pitch took 90 minutes. His tenth took 6.
A new marketer timed himself, and the numbers tell a kind story about getting faster.
1. Pitch #1: 90 minutes. He froze, rewrote it five times, almost gave up.
2. Pitch #5: 22 minutes. He had a rough shape in his head now.
3. Pitch #10: 6 minutes. He reused his intro line and just swapped the answer.
His secret was a saved "starter block" — one sentence saying who he is ("I'm Sam, I've run email campaigns for 7 years"). He pasted that every time.
Think of it like learning a recipe: the first dinner is slow, the tenth is easy.
None of his first ten got published, by the way. Number 14 did. Speed came first, the win came later.
Try this today: write one reusable intro sentence and save it.
