Case study: AAWP vs TablePress on the same headphone review
A mid-size audio review site ran both comparison-table plugins on identical traffic for 6 weeks, split by cookie.
AAWP
Pros: pulled live Amazon prices, Prime badges, auto-refreshed every 24h
Cons: locked to Amazon, €69/yr starter tier, table CSS fought their theme
TablePress
Pros: free, fast, any merchant
Cons: static data, someone had to update prices by hand
Result: AAWP tables converted at 4.1% to Amazon vs TablePress 2.8%. The live price + Prime badge did the lifting. But here's the gotcha nobody mentions — when Amazon's API throttled during a sale, AAWP cached a stale lower price and the site got a policy warning for price mismatch.
My pick: AAWP if you're 80%+ Amazon and accept the API risk. TablePress if you mix CJ, Impact and Awin where AAWP can't reach.
Bottom line: the +1.3% conversion was real, but budget a day for the API-throttle edge case before you trust it on Prime Day.
