Q: 'We added review schema. How much do star ratings really move clicks?'
Short answer: On commercial queries, expect a measurable CTR lift — one retailer saw +35%.
The longer version: A footwear store had genuine reviews displayed on-page but no Product + AggregateRating markup. They rolled it out across 2,100 product pages. Stars appeared in SERPs on ~64% of them within three weeks (Google ignores it where it deems reviews unreliable). On pages that got stars, click-through rose from 2.4% to 3.2% — a 33% relative lift — with no ranking change at all. Pure presentation win. The pages that DIDN'T get stars? Usually under 5 reviews or reviews that read as templated.
Rule of thumb: Review schema only works on top of real, varied reviews. Markup can't manufacture trust that isn't on the page.
