Heard: some pop sources bid against you in their own auction to lift your price
When a source runs a self-buy or 'house demand' line in the same auction it sells you, your clearing price floats up without any real competing advertiser behind it. You're bidding against the landlord.
Our read: watch for a tight, sticky second-price gap that never moves regardless of your bid. Real competition is noisy; a synthetic floor is eerily stable. Test by yanking your bid hard — if win rate barely moves but price-to-win tracks you exactly, the auction's rigged.
