Case study: the "quick extra" that would have cost $900

Case study: the "quick extra" that would have cost $900

Scope creep = when a brand slowly adds tasks that weren't in the deal, for no extra pay.

A beauty creator agreed to one reel for $800. After signing, the manager asked for "just a couple stories too, and a TikTok version — easy, right?"

Those extras were really three more deliverables. At her rates, worth about $900.

Instead of folding, she wrote: "Love the idea! Stories and TikTok aren't in our current scope. I can add both for $450." The brand approved it.

She got paid $1,250 total instead of doing $1,700 of work for $800.

Your move: when a new task appears, say "happy to add that" — then name a price. Friendly, firm, paid.
