An honest reviewer admits the lightest builder is sometimes no builder. For brochure sites and landing pages, a block theme plus a few patterns can beat any drag-and-drop tool.

The trade is real: you lose visual drag-and-drop convenience and gain the lightest possible output, zero license cost, and zero lock-in. Modern block themes (with theme.json) plus reusable patterns cover most marketing-site needs.

Pros:
— Lightest output, no license, no lock-in, clean exit
— Updates never break a third-party builder dependency
Cons:
— No live drag-and-drop; editing is block-by-block
— Complex layouts need real CSS knowledge

Verdict: for simple, stable sites the no-builder route wins on every long-term metric except editing speed.

Best for: low-edit brochure and landing sites where performance and portability beat convenience.
