I stopped publishing for 3 months — did I tank my site?
Q: Life got busy and I didn't post for a quarter. Is my site ruined?
A: Short answer: no — a gap won't sink a site with solid existing content. Longer answer: Google doesn't punish you for taking a break; your already-ranking pages keep ranking as long as they stay relevant. What a long pause actually costs you is momentum — fewer fresh pages means fewer new ranking chances and slower topical growth, so growth stalls rather than crashes. The bigger risk is decay on time-sensitive posts that quietly went stale while you were away. So coming back, don't frantically pump out new posts — first audit and refresh your top pages that drifted out of date, then resume a pace you can actually sustain this time.
